Description:
Lam Dong Province is located in the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) region, bordered on the north by Dak Lak; by Binh Thuan on the south; by Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan on the east; by
Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc on the west.
Da Lat is the capital city, is extremely hilly, offers an harmonious combination of natural scenery and historical
sites. The city is decorated with a vast variety of beautiful flowers such as
rhododendron, cherry, dahlia, daisy, hydrangea, mimosa, rose all grow
here.
Da Lat has a cool
climate with an annual average temperature of 18şC.

Transport:
Da Lat is 1,505 kilometres south of Ha Noi; 308 kilometres northeast of Ho Chi
Minh City/SaiGon; 118 kilometres northeast of Bao Loc; 110 kilometres northwest
of Phan Rang; 200 kilometres east of Buon Ma Thuot; 210 kilometres west of Nha Trang.
There is
a direct 'road', better described as a track, from Da Lat to Buon Ma Thuot that
commences from Duc Trong about 24 kilometres southwest of Da Lat, running west
off Highway 20. Da Lat has scheduled air and road services.
Air
Da Lats Lien Khuong Airport (DLI) is 25 kilometres south of the city.
There are scheduled services to Da Nang, Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City/SaiGon.
Rail
Ga Da Lat, or Da Lat Station is of Art Deco design, located on Nguyen Thai
Street that leads to the Lake of Sighs. It is a funicular, or cog, railway that
connected Da Lat with Thap Cham, on the coast.
The line is currently 8 kilometres in length, a ride that will cost you USD$3.00
- return. It was discontinued in the 1960’s due to repeated Viet Cong attacks.
Road
Bus Station Ben Xe Da Lat, the long distance terminal, is 1 kilometre south of
Xuan Hong Lake at the end of Nguyen Thi
Minh Khai Street. Express buses leave for Buon Ma Thuot, Da Nang, Vanh Thanh Bus
Station in Ho Chi Minh City/SaiGon, Hue, Nha Trang, Phan Rang, Quang Ngai and Quy Nhon.
Minibus tickets from Da Lat can be purchased in most hotels in Da Lat, or at Da
Lat Tourist. It costs US$ 7 to Ho Chi Minh
City.
