Description:

Ha Tinh Province is located in the North Central ViętNam region bordered by Nghe An on the north and Quang Binh on the south and sharing its western border with Laos. The eastern border 137  kilometres coastline of the South China Sea.

The plain area is rather narrow about 20% of total area. The river network however is dense with the biggest river, Ngan Sau. The seacoast region is about 20,000 square kilometres, dotted with many large and small islands and beautiful estuaries such as: Hoi estuary (Nghi Xuan), Sot estuary (Thach Ha), Nhuong estuary (Cam Xuan), Khau estuary (Ky Anh).

Economy:
Iron mining.

Natural beauty sights:
Famous sites include Ben Tam Soa (Duc Tho); Hoanh Son Quang - Ngang Pass; Hong Mountain; Lam River; Son Kim Springs; Ke Go Lake; Tieng Springs (Hong Linh); Vu Mon Waterfall (Huong Khe); Vu Quang Forest in Huong Khe.

Tourist sights:
Thien Cam Beach.

Historic sights:
Dong Loc Road Junction. Villages have erected many temples, pagodas, and shrines such as Cua Dieu Stupa, Huong Tich Pagoda and Tam Lang Temple.

Festivals:
Cui Market Temple Festival (Nghi Xuan)(third month of the lunar calendar); Ha Thuy Festival (Nhuong Ban)(sixth month of the lunar calendar); Huong Pagoda Festival (second month of the lunar calendar); Le Khoi Temple Festival (Thach Ha)(fifth month of the lunar calendar).

Transport:

Ha Tinh is served by road, although the rail line runs through the inland flatlands there are no Express Train stops here. Ha Tinh is about 341 kilometres south of Ha Noi, 34 kilometres south of Vinh and 150 kilometres north of  Dong Hoi.

Rail
Express rail connections can be made at Vinh.

Road
There are local and long distances running north to Vinh and beyond and south to Dong Hoi and beyond.
