WomPom Web Site Privacy |
| |
WomPom
eschews privacy; our e-mail servers (computers that send e-mail to the
InterNet) have over 3.21-million e-mail travel industry addresses loaded in them, we
don't need any more, than necessary! |
| |
Many
of these addresses have been supplied by entities for whom part of the WomPom organisation provides e-mailing services. |
| |
These
e-mail lists are secure; they are not shared, sold, purloined, traded
or otherwise used in trade. They are the property of the people who
entrusted the lists to us. |
| |
If
it were otherwise, WomPom would require you to complete onerous
forms - did you see the one from Jade Tours where they even asked of
your annual income - guess what, Agents even filled that question in.
Dumb. WomPom wouldn't make the WomPom.news available at the
click of a mouse if it wanted information. |
| |
One WomPom doesn't even use credit cards or bank
accounts in his country of residence, strictly cash, so no one - short of
following the person around - can trace their activities. You can rest assured
that any information you give us is very safe, secure and private. |
| |
Occasionally
we process our web site logs to determine various technical
aspects of our operation. These logs are used by most web site
operators and contain the URL of the InterNet Service Provider to
which a visiting computer is connected; what time they opened a page;
the page sequences followed; and any errors that occurred. |
| |
This
mundane information is useful for it allows web site operators to
optimise their equipment, and even web pages, to improve the traffic
handling capability. We can rectify the errors that you see as 404
on your screen and just make your visits that much more easier. |
| |
If some visitor abuses their rights, we can lock
them out - the record of the abuse will be in the log. Be warned! |
| |
We can even create web sites on different
continents, with identical URL's or addresses, whose audiences will be directed
to one or the other dependent upon their geographic location. For example, why
have multiple paths across the Atlantic Ocean if a separate web site in Europe
can relieve the InterNet traffic?
| |
WomPom also uses this technique for legal reasons
where some content might be unlawful in one country but is lawful in another. |
| |
The bottom line is we don't care whether your
name is Rod in
Heathrow or Don in Dallas or simply Simon from New
Mexico, as long as you learn one thing or WomPom provokes one thought
we consider our work complete. |
| |
So enjoy your visits, and know that we won't
abuse your trust. |
